Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("you," "your," or "User") and ArticleBot Inc. ("ArticleBot," "we," "us," or "our"), the company that operates ArticleBot at articlebot.io (the "Site") and the ArticleBot software platform (the "Service").

By accessing the Site, creating an account, or using the Service in any way, you confirm that you:

  • Are at least 18 years of age (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction)
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
  • Have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy
  • Are not located in a jurisdiction where use of the Service is prohibited by applicable law

If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms. In that case, "you" refers to that entity.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.

2. The Service

ArticleBot is an AI-powered content operations platform that provides:

  • AI-assisted article and content generation
  • Keyword research and SEO analysis tools
  • Competitor intelligence and content strategy tools
  • Website and brand management
  • Content publishing to third-party platforms (WordPress, webhooks)
  • Scheduled and automated content generation ("Auto Pilot")
  • Team collaboration and role-based access management

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

3. Accounts

3.1 Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated at all times.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Immediately notifying us at support@articlebot.io of any unauthorised access or security breach

We cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain the security of your account.

3.3 Account Eligibility

One person or legal entity may not maintain more than one free trial account. Accounts registered by automated means or bots are prohibited.

3.4 Account Termination by You

You may cancel your account at any time by following the cancellation instructions within the Service or by contacting support@articlebot.io. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period unless you request immediate deletion.

4. Payments, Billing, and Subscriptions

4.1 Merchant of Record — Lemon Squeezy

All payments for the Service are processed by Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy LLC, "LS"), which acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions. This means:

  • Lemon Squeezy is the seller of record on your payment receipt and bank statement
  • Lemon Squeezy is responsible for collecting and remitting all applicable sales taxes, VAT, and GST on your behalf
  • Your payment information (credit card number, billing address) is collected and stored by Lemon Squeezy, not by ArticleBot
  • Lemon Squeezy's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy govern the payment transaction itself
  • By completing a purchase, you also agree to Lemon Squeezy's Terms of Service
  • Lemon Squeezy may be contacted regarding payment issues at: support@lemonsqueezy.com

4.2 Subscription Plans

The Service is offered on a subscription basis. Subscription details, including features and pricing, are described on our Pricing page. Prices are displayed in USD unless otherwise stated.

4.3 Billing Cycle

Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis, depending on the plan you select. Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.

4.7 Free Trials

We may offer a free trial period. During your free trial:

  • No charge is made until the trial ends
  • You may cancel at any time during the trial without charge
  • At the end of the trial, your selected plan will automatically begin and your payment method will be charged unless you cancel before the trial expires
  • We reserve the right to limit free trials to one per person or entity

5. Refund Policy

5.1 General Policy

Because ArticleBot delivers digital software services and AI-generated content that are consumed immediately upon generation, all sales are generally final and non-refundable once the Service has been actively used during a billing period.

5.2 Exceptions

We will consider refund requests in the following circumstances:

  • You were charged due to a technical error on our part
  • The Service was substantially unavailable for more than 72 continuous hours during a paid billing period due to our fault
  • You are entitled to a refund under applicable consumer protection law that cannot be excluded

6. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not use the Service to:

6.1 Prohibited Content

Generate, publish, transmit, or store content that:

  • Is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, abusive, fraudulent, obscene, or otherwise objectionable
  • Infringes any third party's intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other rights
  • Contains malware, viruses, or any harmful code
  • Constitutes spam, bulk unsolicited communications, or phishing
  • Promotes illegal activities, violence, terrorism, or discrimination
  • Violates any third-party platform's terms of service
  • Is intentionally false, misleading, or deceptive in a way that harms others

6.3 AI Content Responsibility

You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying all AI-generated content before publishing. ArticleBot does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or legality of AI-generated output.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our Property

The Service and all of its components are owned by ArticleBot or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer any intellectual property rights to you.

7.2 Your Content

You retain full ownership of all content you create, upload, or generate using the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, process, and display Your Content solely to the extent necessary to operate and provide the Service to you.

We do not claim ownership of Your Content. We will not use Your Content for any purpose other than operating the Service for you, including AI model training.

8. Third-Party Services and Integrations

The Service allows you to connect to and publish content to third-party platforms including WordPress and custom endpoints via webhook. By connecting a third-party service, you:

  • Represent that you have the right to provide any credentials or access tokens required
  • Agree that your use of such third-party services remains subject to their own terms of service and privacy policies
  • Acknowledge that we are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, content, or practices of any third-party service
  • Accept sole responsibility for your content once it has been published to a third-party platform

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
  • Any errors or defects will be corrected
  • AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, original, or fit for any particular purpose
  • The Service will meet your specific requirements
  • Results obtained from use of the Service will achieve any particular business outcome including search engine rankings, traffic, or revenue

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will ArticleBot, its directors, employees, agents, partners, or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to lost profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, business interruption, or costs of substitute services.

Our total cumulative liability to you for any claims will not exceed the greater of: (a) the total amount you paid to ArticleBot in the 12 months immediately preceding the event, or (b) USD $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ArticleBot and its officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and service providers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to:

  • Your breach of these Terms
  • Your use of the Service
  • Your Content, including any claim that Your Content infringes a third party's intellectual property or other rights
  • Your use of any third-party integration or publishing platform through the Service
  • Your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party

14. Privacy

Your use of the Service is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

15. Termination

15.1 Termination by You

You may cancel your account and terminate these Terms at any time by cancelling through the Service or emailing support@articlebot.io.

15.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service immediately and without prior notice if:

  • You breach any provision of these Terms
  • We are required to do so by law or a regulatory authority
  • Continuing to provide the Service to you would expose us to legal liability

15.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

  • Your right to access and use the Service ceases immediately
  • We will retain your data for 90 days following termination in case you wish to reactivate, after which it will be permanently deleted
  • You may request immediate deletion by emailing privacy@articlebot.io

16. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make changes, we will:

  • Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
  • Notify you by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect
  • Require you to re-accept the Terms if the changes are significant

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes your acceptance.

17. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

17.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.

17.2 Informal Resolution

Before filing any formal dispute, you agree to first contact us at legal@articlebot.io and give us 30 days to attempt to resolve the issue informally.

17.3 Class Action Waiver

You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action.
